The conditions apply. But what makes these points really interesting is the potential to pursue them to travel partners. Most items purchased anywhere in the world are automatically insured against theft, loss or deterioration, as long as the total cost of your Scotiabank Gold American Express item® card are charged. You can transfer Membership Rewards points to several other loyalty programs, including British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Emirates frequent flyer programs. However, a restriction: in case of transfer to U.S. airlines, you must also pay a fee of $0.0006 per point, with a maximum amount of $99. You will be better off avoiding these fees if possible.
