Amex Gold Agreement

For foodies and travelers, the American Express® Gold Card offers a wide spread of current rewards, including 4 points for every dollar spent in restaurants around the world, 4 points for every dollar spent in U.S. supermarkets for purchases of up to $25,000 per year, and 3 points per dollar spent on flights booked directly with airlines or amextravel.com. The conditions apply. But what makes these points really interesting is the potential to pursue them to travel partners. Most items purchased anywhere in the world are automatically insured against theft, loss or deterioration, as long as the total cost of your Scotiabank Gold American Express item® card are charged. You can transfer Membership Rewards points to several other loyalty programs, including British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Emirates frequent flyer programs. However, a restriction: in case of transfer to U.S. airlines, you must also pay a fee of $0.0006 per point, with a maximum amount of $99. You will be better off avoiding these fees if possible. You will automatically be covered by Collision Loss/Damage Insurance if you rent a vehicle on your behalf, refuse to waive damage or damage (or similar provisions) from the Agency, and use your Scotiabank Gold American Express® card to pay the full rental fee. If your rental car is damaged or stolen, you are insured for the amount you are subject to the owner up to the current value of the vehicle.

Please note that the rental period must not exceed 48 consecutive days and that vehicles costing more than $65,000 are not covered. If you check in at a hotel or motel in Canada or the United States and charge for your stay at your Scotiabank Gold American Express® card, you and your spouse and their accompanying children, you are responsible for protecting yourself from theft of your covered personal belongings if your room is burgled. If your debt exceeds the amount reimbursed by the hotel and/or applicable insurance coverage, your insurance coverage will receive the balance up to a maximum of USD 1,000. Another area in which the AmEx Gold Card really dominates is its value-added benefits, some of which have just been added. First, each calendar year, cardholders receive up to $100 in account statement credits for airline incidental expenses, z.B. for checked baggage or lounge passports of a given U.S. airline that cardholders can choose each year in January. People with the card will also receive up to 10 $US per month in the declaration credits for orders from Grubhub, Seamless and Boxed, or at Ruth`s Chris Steakhouse, The Cheesecake Factory and some Shack shake sites.

American Express has just added a free Uber Eats Pass for up to 12 months as a card advantage, which normally costs $9.99 per month and includes on delivery fees and 5 percent off restaurant orders over $15 and no shipping fee for food orders over $30 in some markets. Starting in early 2021, Gold Card members will receive up to $10 per month in Uber Cash, which can be provided for Uber Eats orders and Uber rides for travel benefits in the United States by a third party (currently Hogg Robinson Canada Inc. (HRG) and without modification. For someone who visits cheesecake Factory at least once a month and often checks bags with a particular airline, it is easier to maximize these credits than to unroll a tree trunk. But if you wouldn`t normally have spent money that way, the credits may not be as valuable as they seem. The primary cardholder on the Scotiabank Gold American Express® card account (the “account”) is responsible for all account fees, including fees charged by the additional cardholder.
